Accessibility
We want this catalogue usable by everyone who needs to order from it, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard only, or a phone in poor light on a site.
Where we actually are
We would rather tell you the truth than display a badge.
This site has not been formally audited for accessibility, and it has not been tested with a screen reader. We are not claiming WCAG conformance, because we have not verified it.
What we have deliberately done while building it:
- Text contrast. Body and secondary text colours were measured against their backgrounds and adjusted to clear the WCAG AA ratio of 4.5:1. Several tones in the original design sat between 2.4:1 and 4.1:1 and were darkened.
- Keyboard focus. Focus indicators are visible when navigating by keyboard, rather than being removed for looking untidy with a mouse.
- Skip to content. A skip link is the first thing a keyboard or screen reader user reaches, so the navigation does not have to be tabbed through on every page.
- Reduced motion. Animations and scroll reveals are switched off for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.
- Touch targets. Tap areas are enlarged on touch devices without shrinking the layout for mouse users.
- Real text. Product codes, names and specifications are text, not pictures of text, so they can be read aloud, enlarged or copied.
- Image descriptions. Product photographs carry alt text describing the part and finish.
Where we know it falls short
- No screen reader testing has been done. There will be problems we do not know about.
- Specification sheets are manufacturer PDFs. We do not control their internal structure, and they may not be tagged for screen readers.
- The site has not been tested on real assistive technology on a phone.

Accessibility problems reported to us are treated as defects, not as suggestions. We would rather hear about a real barrier than maintain a claim of compliance we have not earned.
